BYRON BAY WEDDING
Angela + Mitch
There is just something special about Byron Bay and if you have been there you would know exactly what I mean. The moment you turn off the highway onto the road that leads into Byron Bay you just feel a relaxed state come over you and pumped ready to have some beach fun. What a great location for newlyweds to start off their married life.
Happily ever after started for Angela & Mitch long before their wedding day. They chose to happily celebrate their wedding in Byron Bay with a beach ceremony at Clarkes Beach.
This wedding will always go down as one of my all time favourite weddings. Not only because Angela & Mitch and their entire bridal party were pretty rad fun with one of the groomsmen jumping in the ocean for a swim during our photoshoot on the beach.
Plus I had one of my all time favourite international wedding photographers, who was in the country all the way from Texas USA to do a series of photography workshops, tag along and play second photographer on this wedding. Clayton Austin was finishing his Australian photography workshops with a stop over in Byron Bay for the weekend before heading back to the States, and decided to tag along to add an Australian wedding to his portfolio. You can check out Clayton’s portfolio on his The Sparrow and The Crow website.
Earlier in the week I did Clayton Austin‘s workshop where I also met his good friend and travelling companion, and also a wedding filmmaker from Florida USA, Derrek Sullivan from Sullivan Films, now Fauna Film. Lucky for me, and fortunately for Angela & Mitchell, Derek offered to come along film the wedding to add to their Australian experience.
From the moment I stepped into the boy’s holiday house and was greeted by one of the groomsmen in his underwear, I knew we were up for one of those truly memorable weddings – great couple, fun bridal party, awesome location and I was getting to live out one of my dreams of shooting along side a photographer that had inspired me for over 2 years.
Rather than babbling on, Im going to let the photographs tell Angela & Mitchell’s awesome wedding day love story …
Congratulations to Ang and Mitch and a huge thank you goes out to Clayton and Derrek.
